The U.N. has joined the bandwagon of people who are pushing for Wi-Fi as the choice of technology to bridge the digital divide and the report by Computerworld also gives some idea about its introduction in India.

This reminds me of the research paper which I wrote last year about “Low-cost Information Infrastructure in Remote Areas” which was accepted to Development by Design ‘02 an international conference organised by MIT Media Labs, Infosys, ACM, etc.
