ACM Queue | IM, Not IP (Information Pollution) - A steady dose of realtime interruptions is toxic to anyone’s health.

This is a very relevant topic considering that I have resorted to running a firewall and anti-popup browser (Mozilla Firebird) apart from the compulsory anti-virus to stop being deluged by pop-ups, pop-unders. Right now my firewall is reporting every 2 minutes that it has blocked an illegal access. Inspite of all this there seems to be end in sight to the problem of spam.
I however disagree with the authors’ take on productivity loss due to Instant Messaging - in fact corporate IM is a killer app.

I also want to apologize for my decrease in blog-activity for the past few days. My cable internet connection at home is going on and off the past few days.
